[AudioI] SDR : software defined radio and frequency generation

Hi Matt,

That is a bit of a loaded question.  There are number of methods that
SDR hardware generate RF.   Our products use Tayloe (quadrature IQ)
mixers.  Here is a link on how they work.
http://www.ripublication.com/irph/ijeee_spl/ijeeev7n4_08.pdf .

We use the AudioInjector Zero for the audio interface.  Flow diagram:

Receive:  Antenna (RF) -> Tayloe Mixer (I/Q Data) -> SDR engine with
PortAudio (digital audio)-> AudioInjector Zero -> analog audio -> speaker .
Transmit: Microphone (analog audio) -> AudioInjector Zero (digital
audio) -> SDR engine with PortAudio (I/Q data) -> Tayloe Mixer -> RF ->
RF Amplifier -> Antenna.

I will send a schematic if you would like to see the guts of the product.
