[AudioI] Which Release?

I have two OCTOs and neither seems to work. The install goes fine and the device shows up (sometimes after several reboots) in play -l.
Speaker-test plays a bit of noise, but not pink, more like garbled digital noise.
I can use other devices such as Presonus 1818VSL with no issue.
I’ve tried these Releases, both do the same thing, just pulsing noise.

What releases are known to work?
Any troubleshooting hints?
