[AudioI] No sound in icecast2 stream

I'm new to using audio in Linux and not 100% certain that I've set the hat up correctly. I'm using it on a Raspberry PI IO Board with a CM4. My goal is to setup an Icecast stream for my local network, I'm using Darkice to convert the audio input into mp3 for the stream.
In order to verify my setup I purchased a USB sound and once I updated my Darkice config to use the new card I could hear audio in my stream right away. So my software setup seems to work.
I've also tried to use arecord using the various AudioInjector devices to record wav files in cd and dat format. The files all start with a click and then silence. My Icecast stream using the AudioInjector devices sounds the same.
I've unmuted or enabled all the options in alsamixer, and upded all the volumes to max and set the manual volumn knob almost to the max.
Is it possible that my card is defective?
Is there anything else I could modify?

I'm trying to setup a local icecast stream using a Raspberry PI CM4 installed on the Compute Module 4 IO Board with the AudioInjector Stero card installed.
I think I've configured the card as outlined in github and I think I have darkice and icecast running properly because they are generating a stream, but there is no sound in the stream.
I think the problem might be with the device I've configured as my source. Running aplay -L I get the following output:

I've tried using the following device options in my darkice config with no luck:

I've used a headphone line out from my phone and from a small amp (which is plugged into a pre-amp) using both the RCA and the headphone line in.
Is one of those listed devices the right option, or is there something else I can do to test the problem?
