Great to have confirmation. thanks
Hi Matt,
Just a follow up for you and folks reading this thread. After researching how electret microphone elements work, I found that most computer type headsets use an electret microphone element. A standard computer type headset works fine when attached to MIC and PHONES connections on the zero.

Right, looks good.
For the mic. Ground goes to the terminal with the solid white silkscreen paint around it. The Red "Microphone" connection goes to the other terminal next to it which has the "+" sign.

Hi Matt,
We will be wiring the audio hat to a TRRS female connector for the headset to plug into. We will use the MIC holes and the phone holes.

Ok, I think it is an electret microphone.
Do you have a connector on the headset ? Do you have a link to an image ?

Hi Matt,
When I say real microphone, I mean a microphone of the type that is used in a headset. Should I use the RCA port or the MIC port?
