Regarding DC output/input, I think you should do some experimenting directly on the main sound card board. Be very careful not to send static electricity into the pins.

If you start with probing the pins for how it outputs DC voltages, that may help you.

Regarding getting more outputs, the I2S bus is limited to 8 channels with this card. We are considering doing a 12/16 channel version.

We have an early post from this email list which demonstrates how to configure the HDMI audio and a GPIO sound card at the same time. This allows you to use both cards. You will have to create a .asoundrc file to merge the two cards into one, which will give you 16 outputs, however I am not sure about synchrony - it will require experimentation !

Hi Matt, I'm very happy with the Octo thanks so much. It' perfect for what I'm doing.

I tried shorting the caps but it did not seem to change much. I'll work later of making it DC maybe those resistors will make the magic.

I have another question, supposing I would like to have more outs could I use coupe of inputs for those? 

Or in case is it still possible to use the default soundcard from the Pi?
