Hello Andrea

You can try using 2 raspberries, each equipped with an Octo card. Communication can be done using netjack, the network component of the jackd library. It is a low latency system. The result is quite impressive on an internal network.
With software like Ardour, you can have access to a 12in / 16out system.

Best regards
Serge

Hello,

Hi

I need to work on 8 channels projects (8 inputs/8 outputs) and I was wondering if I can stack a Stereo card on top of a octo card or eventually even stack a octo card on top of another octo card to extend the inputs capability.

As there is only one I2S bus, two cards can't operate as master on the same bus. To create a 16 or 12 channel bus would require a different hardware setup.

If this is the case, stacking two octo cards will give me a 12 input channels capability?
There will be extra delay due to the fact that we have two distinct ADC circuits?

I think that we need to create the "Hexa" soundcard for this purpose !

Thank you in advance for your reply,
-Andrea
