Hi Matt -
I'm using a Pi 4 model B, and Raspbian OS 10 (buster). I will do the test and get back to you. Thanks very much!

It's the same ADC and DAC chip as the HiFiBerry from what I can tell. So
should be pretty straight forward right?

Any information anywhere on the Elk Audio OS - what hardware, kernel,
etc etc ?

They use different audio codecs. It will take some work.

Hi Celia,

As a first step, can you please confirm that you can hear the input audio.

Lets just confirm first that there is a valid input sound source there ?
What is plugged into the input side of the sound card ?

Here is a simple test I just did. The idea here is to get a vu meter to
move randomly when you touch the input line pins ... I unplugged all
connectors to the Octo. I installed and started audacity. I then clicked
the VU meter text "click to start monitoring ...". This enables input
signal monitoring in the meter. Next, I touch and hold the usb shield to
get rid of static, a better way may be to touch the gnd pin on the pi's
GPIO header from underneath. Next I run my finger along the input
header. I can see the VU meter moving when my finger touches the input
line pins. The line of pins on the input header on the inside (towards
the IC) are inputs, the outside line are gnd pins. Make sure you run
your finger along the input pins.

Matt

p.s. out of interest, are you on a Pi3 or a Pi4 ?
