Hi Iain,
I thought you wanted differential audio output from the Pro. Do you just want single-ended (unbalanced) then? If so, you would buy the RCA preamp board for the Pro instead. 
You mentioned you are using a high fidelity streaming service. Will you be running it on the Pi itself or streaming the audio output of what you are running it on over the network to the Pi? If the latter is the case, you’ll be recompressing the streaming service’s audio to deliver it to the Pi over the network and losing quality. I don’t know if it will resample it, but if it does, you would be defeating your initial goal.

Logitech Media Server is an excellent streaming audio server for Spotify, Tidal, web radio, etc. It can stream to any number of players (including squeezelite) on a network and these players can be controlled from mobile phone apps or a browser interface.

Hi Iain,
I don’t know what sort of input connections your preamp has (I don’t believe you mentioned it) and I’m not familiar with any of that software. 
The Pro simply presents itself as an ALSA device, like any other ALSA soundcard. If you require differential audio output for your preamp, you’ll get it with the XLR preamp board via the XLR connectors.

  The XLR preamp board provides both stereo input and output and is how you interface the Pro with whatever you connect it to. If you want differential audio output, that's the preamp board you buy. If you want single-ended audio like the Stereo provides, you buy the RCA preamp board.

   Hi Iain, 
  You simply buy the Audio Injector Pro and the XLR preamp board and use XLR to connect unbalanced audio to your preamp like you would anything else.  
  The preamp board is needed unless you want to roll your own high quality op amp line drivers. The CODEC requires them.

  There are output boards available, both single-ended (rca preamp) and differential (XLR preamp) boards. It sounds like you have the RCA preamp board. You would simply buy the differential preamp board. Here is the product page and it looks like you can purchase it here.

So I'd wire the left channel RCA "tip" to Output 1 and the right channel tip to Output 2. Correct? Do the Output pins have a ground or should I wire the RCA sleeves to the GND on the Power pins?
